More than 300 star-grade hotels in more than 30 Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Chongqing have agreed to defer their checkout times in a campaign proposed by Ctrip.com.Most of hotels have deferred their checkout time to Wall of China 14:00, and Wall of China some even to 15:00 or 16:00. The campaign will last for two months until July 31, 2009.
According to normal conventions, guests can only check in after 14:00 and must check out before 12:00, or payment of a half-day room Wall of China rate will be needed. However, in actual situations many guests on business trips would probably arrive late at a hotel and check out before 12:00, which means they have to pay full the price for only half a day's stay in the hotel. This has been a cause of complaint by guests for some time.
About 100 CNPC hotels and another 1,700 hotels in more than 220 Chinese cities are available on the site. The site's air tickets service covers flights to major domestic and international cities which can meet customers' demands 24-hours-a-day. Its travel and holiday products also cover major domestic and foreign routes.
